1. When out-of-court play is allowed

You may run outside the court to hit the ball only if:

- The ball first bounces once inside your court, then flies out through the open side gates / side gaps (not over the solid back glass wall)

- You strike the ball before it bounces a second time on the ground anywhere

- The court is officially certified with enough safe open space outside for chasing balls (most standard tournament & club courts qualify)

After hitting the ball from outside:

The ball must cross back over the net and land inside the opponent’s court to keep the rally going. You can step back into the court afterward.
